Poppies- Mixed Media Canvas for 7 Dots Studio

I created this 6x12" mixed media canvas for the 7 Dots Studio blog using their Homegrown collection.
I gave this canvas as a teacher's gift for my daughter's teacher.

Although its hard to tell, I used the Homegrown-Attic paper for the background. The paper has poppies and red splatters. The poppies were painted in red acrylic paint to match the other poppies on the canvas. However I left the red splatters intact, and although they look like real paint splatters they are actually part of the page. You can see the red splatters in the background below.

The large poppies were created using light modelling paste. Once dry I painted them in red and added black and white accents. The small poppies and stems were created using the UmWowStudio poppy pod stencil. I dragged the stencil down the to create the longer stems.
