Two Tags for Prima

Prima is having a mini blog hop with Card Maker Magazine.
You can check out the amazing projects created by the CardMaker team right here on their blog...and check out the cards & tags on the Prima blog that the design team created!

Here are the ones I designed:

I created this "Lovely Tag" using the Anna Marie collection from Prima.

This "You and Me" tag was created using the Delight Collection from Prima.

Love- Inspiration for Shimmerz

For my second post this month at Shimmerz I created a colorful textured background and used a picture of my family.

To create the background I first masked a circular pattern using some light molding paste. Then I sprayed it with both Chikadee and Lime in the Coconut Shimmerz sprays.

Then using another small circular stencil, I masked the mini circles with two different colored Dazzlers: Sour Apple and Lemon Drop.

I used Before Dawn to sprinkle some dots on the background. I also used it to color the triangular banner which was then sprayed with Chikadee.

I also stamped different images on the page to help tie in the layout together. The Love title is a chipboard from 2 Crafty

Materials:
White Card stock: Core'dinations

Thankful for You- Sketchbook 365 featuring BoBunny

This Month, BoBunny is sponsoring the DT at Sketchbook 365 and each one of us got one of their new collections to play with. I received the Autumn Song collection and all I have to say is that its gorgeous.

Below is the sketch we used as inspiration and we hope you come join us and play in this month's challenge.

This month the sponsor is :

BoBunny is a family owned and operated company. They are an industry leader, producing wonderfully eclectic ranges of paper and co-ordinating accessories. It all started with two designs in a single store and now this wonderful range can be found in over 38 countries!!

This is a picture of my son sitting on a large fallen tree. I framed the picture with a frame from the BB frames and tags paper. Then I fussy cut some other images and layered them under the photo.

I used a music note stamp from the Autumn song collection to stamp a pattern underneath all the layers.

I used some of the BB metal embellishments and gemstones. I also used some metal butterflies from my stash that I layered on top of the flowers. I found these beautiful doily-like embellies in my stash and I cut them down in half to add as layers across the page.

BoBunny Autumn song papers and stickers
BoBunny Autumn song stamp
BoBunny Autumn song brads
Ranger brown archival ink
Metal butterflies and doilies: unknown
BoBunny gemstones

Smile, Be Happy- 13 Arts Reveal Part 2

This is my second layout for this month's reveal at 13 Arts. It is also bold and bright like the other one but with a different colour scheme.

I built my background on top of the "Spring Morning" paper from the 13 Arts "Faces of Spring" collection. However, after applying all the mediums, you can only see a glimpse of the original paper underneath. I do have to say that the 13 Arts papers are of amazing quality. They hold up so much wet mixed media without ripping.

To start off, I created a stone like pattern in the background using a new Prima stencil and masking it with 13 Arts Modeling paste. Then I spread (generously) 13 Arts Glass filler microbeads all over the wet medium.

I started spraying the page with three different chalk mists from 13 Arts: Yellow Lemon, Celadon and Sap Green. I let the ink drip down the page by spraying it with water to dilute the consistency. I also used some "almost dry" 13 Arts Primer from the edges of the jar. As we always have some hardened paste around the edges of the jar, I didn't want them to go to waste. Using a palette knife, I smeared them randomly on the page, creating a rough surface in my background.

I used Ranger black Archival ink and stamped a couple of different images on the page using two different Prima stamps. Then I embellished the page with 13 Arts flowers and stems. I also used Prima flowers and wooden icons, yellow seam binding, and black pearls.

The Chipboard pieces are from 2 Crafty. I used the Avery vines and the Scallop Circle Bunting to create layers on my layout. I simply primed them in 13 Arts gesso and left them white. The "Smile" title I sprayed in Yellow Lemon spray.

Finally, to highlight the background and to bring some depth into the layout I used some 13 Arts Pearl Black mist. I sprayed it on my mat and then, using a brush, painted underneath the embellishments.

13 Arts Materials:
Faces of Spring papers
Primer
Modeling Paste
Glass Filler microbeads
Chalk Ayeeda Mist: Yellow Lemon, Celadon and Sap green
Pearl black mist
White flowers
White stems

Other Materials

The Prima blog is featuring the School Memories collection and I created a layout about my daughter's first day of school in Grade 2.
