Believe- Blue Fern Studios and Start to finish How to Video

Its my turn again on the Blue Fern Studios Blog. This month my reveal is all about me, how I feel, my thoughts and memories of this time of my life as I'm approaching 40. I had to jot down some of my thoughts and feelings so I can one day look back and remember them. I guess this is what scrapbooking is all about. I always thought I should scrapbook for my kids so they can have these memories in the future. However I actually think that I am scrapbooking for myself, so when I'm old and gray (LOL) I can look back and remember how I felt or how I looked. That is if I can find these layouts amidst the hundreds of boxes I will have by then.

I have a how to video on how I create this layout here below so I won't go into a lot of specific details and just watch the video.

Love you Forever- Shimmerz DT

Its my turn again on the Shimmerz Blog and I have a bright layout for you today and its filled with colour and light!!

These are the Shimmerz products I used for this layout. They are all shaded green and yellow as those are the only two colours I used not including white and black.

I used many different papers and embellishments from Prima to match the green and yellow Shimmerz colors. The frames I used are part of Prima's Instascrap collection from winter CHA.

I used the checkered Finnabair stamp to add some black texture to the background and complimented it with some Prima black resin keys.

Love & Gratitude-7 Dots Studio

This is my second project for the 7 Dots Studio blog and as you may have noticed its another Gratitude Journal. 

I've designed a few of these journals over the past few months. I love creating them for those special people in my life. Not only are they made with love but they are also a personal token from me. They are perfect for their gratitude thoughts. They can jot down their thankful feelings inside and be reminded of them every  single day.

I created this Love & Gratitude Journal for a very good friend as a gift for her Birthday. I altered this blank hard cover notebook I bought at the dollar store. 

I covered the book with one of the Messy Head papers, both front and back. Then I added some stencilling with Light Molding paste to create a textured background. 

I used Shimmerz paints to drip some colour down the page and then matched the Prima flowers to the same colours.

I'm definitely on a roll with these journals. I have a couple of more requests for these, so you might see some more coming up on my blog.

Mechanical Metal Frame- Prima's Finnabair Feature

Its time again to feature Prima products designed but the talented Finnabair. 

I just love her metal pieces and I've used them in so many different types of projects like this one below:

I used Finnabair's Mechanicals and Vintage Trinkets embellishments to create a metal frame. Its the perfect frame for any occasion especially this month as there are so many weddings. 

After covering the whole frame with metal flowers,  I hung one of the Mechanical words on a wire and wrapped it around the frame. 

Then I framed this amazing quote so it can be given as a gift. The person can choose to keep it as is or put their own picture in it.

I loved layering the metal flowers and even inserting some hidden messages in between like you see above with the word "Live"

1. Choose a variety of metallic finishes for natural contrast.
2. Use a strong metal glue like for adhering the metal trinkets to each other, and to the frame.
3. Add roman numerals to the centers of the flowers for a FUN touch.
4. Choose numbers that are significant to the person receiving the gift!  (IE: anniversary date, wedding date, birthdate, etc.)
