Weeping Willow--- Tree of Life Series

This "Weeping Willow" tree was created a long time ago.
This month I'm sharing a lot of projects that I have not shared here before.
My blog has always been so busy with posts that I never had time to post non-dt projects.

Here is one of the the trees I originally created for the Tree of Life Series.
However after creating it, I found it a bit sad to share as it depicted a difficult time in my life.
Today I'm sharing it because I don't see the sadness in it anymore, its just another one of my art pieces that I love.

My Boys- 7 Dots Studio- With video recording from Artists Live

I designed this highly textured mixed media layout using the 7 Dots Studio Lost and Found collection.
I used some new mixed media products that I recently discovered at CHA from PentArt. They are sold by PentaColor  Here. These products are made in Hungary and are very high quality. They give texture and color all at once.

I created this layout for my live show on the "Artists Live" Ustream channel on February 8th.  Below is the video recording in case you missed it.

Here are some close-ups

I was able to  make  a very masculine layout using dark earthy tones with paste and sprays.

The title was done using transfer solution from PentArt sold by Pentacolor. You can watch the video to see how I used it.

Two 6x12 Inspirational Canvases

I created two similar canvases using Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos.
They measure 6x12 and they each have their own inspirational quote written on them.
The both made their way to Australia and they now have a nice comfortable home in my friend's house.

I love adding circles to my projects. The circular motion ties things together and balances the piece.
Here I both stencilled and stamped circles in the background.

I used old pages from a book to create the "Trees" and then coloured them with the Gelatos.

I love picking meaningful quotes from the internet or from Pinterest. Whenever I see a quote I like, I tend to pin it so I can refer to it when I make these inspirational canvases.

Live- Laugh- Love- Butterfly Canvas

I designed this canvas a while ago and never got a chance to post it on my blog.
I used a lot of stencils and resist techniques to design it.

The key is to create lots of texture in the background using stencils, paints and stamps.
Then drawing the shape you like.

I used the Acrylic paints and Ranger Dylusions paints all combined.

Enjoy the story- Blue Fern Studios February sketch challenge

Hi Everyone,
Below is the layout I designed with the Blue Fern Studios February sketch challenge.
I used the new Timeless collection as it has earthy tones that matched my rock climbing photo.

I rotated the layout because I wanted to give the composition a downward movement. I used the checkered bits chipboard to create this movement and embossed it in BFS Oatmeal embossing powder.

I framed the photo in one of the chipboard Techno squares. It was embossed in Blue Fern Studios Sage embossing powder.

I used a brick stencil and the PentArt iron paste to create the brick pattern in the background. Then I sprayed with textured spray and Empress Gold Color Bloom spray to create color and texture behind the photo.

Finally I used the word Enjoy from the "Enjoy the Journey" chipboard title and I also used one of the arrow words. They were each sprayed with a matching shimmery and textured spray.
