Footprints in the Sand- Scrap Lift Challenge with 13 Arts

This month 13 Arts is teaming up with a challenge blog from Russia called Scrap Lifting

This month's challenge is to scrap lift this layout, designed by on of their DT's
The very talented Janna Werner

as you can see, this is a fantastic artsy and textured layout and of course it doesn't have any flowers. It was a real challenge for me but I was up for it!!

I kept the layout and composition on the same side of the page, leaving lots of white empty space.

I stamped and inked along the same lines as the layout and instead of using black paint, I used 13 Arts Gesso mixed with Blue Pearl 13 Arts Mist. It came out a pastel blue which I used on a mask to make it seem like ocean waves.

I only included 2 flowers which is really rare for me. I added some other embellishments like shells, Prima resin birds, cheese cloth and this Frame Elouise by 2 Crafty.

Materials used:
Papers: 13 Arts Frosted Life, White Cardstock
Chipboard: 2 Crafty
13 Arts Gesso
13 Arts Modeling paste
13 Arts Blue Pearl Mist
Flowers: Green Tara, Prima
Resin Birds: Prima
Stars: Pink Paislee
pearls: dollar store
Stamp: Hero Arts
Prima fluid chalk ink: old road
Alphas: Webster's pages
cheesecloth, shells
Crackle roller stamp

Well now that I've discovered this amazing challenge site, I might just have to give it a go next month.
why don't you check out the challenge at

and come join us at our monthly challenge at 13 Arts.

have a wonderful, fabulous day!!

Butterfly Kisses- Scrap for Help DT Challenge

Another month has passed and I just can't believe it!! Once again I'm here to show you my creation for my DT challenge at Scrap for Help

This month the challenge is to use a book page.

For the challenge, I used an old dictionary page that says love on the top. I got this idea from my friend Erin Blegen who always uses these pages in her layout. I really love the added chic element it adds to the page.

I used the Prima Lyric collection which is my favorite collection from the Prima CHA release. I love the coral colored flowers I combined with this collection especially these Tatiana flowers. Those are my favorite.

I used lots of chipboard pieces from the Lyric collection and I accented the page with a resin lamp post and a resin nest from The Trinket Track.

Finally for this challenge I used Skissedilla's sketch #204 as an inspiration

Materials
Papers: Prima Lyric Collection
Chipboard: Prima Lyric
Flowers: Prima
Lamp Post: Prima
Resin next: The Trinket Track
Textured paste, cheese cloth
Prima 6x6 mask
Butterflies: Prima
Wood grain mask: The Crafters Workshop
Shimmerz sprays
Book page

Well I hope you come and join us this month at Scrap for Help and try out our challenge.

I will announce the winners of my giveaway on April 6th!!

and if you missed my video tutorial the other day here it is again!!

Have a great Spring!!

Patience- GD for Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge

I was invited this month to be a guest designer at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge. The first challenge on April 1st is to Scrap about my greatest current challenge or a challenge from my past.

One of my greatest challenges in life is to have
"Patience"
and this is the theme I chose for this challenge. I've had to learn in this lifetime how to have patience.
I always want things to happen right away when I want them. Over the years I've had to learn that with patience and determination your dreams do come true.

I used my curling paper technique again on this layout to frame this photo of me by the beach.

I used old butterfly chipboard pieces around the photo and up the page. I covered them with gesso and then sprayed and painted them in 2 different colored Shimmerz. Then I stamped them with my script stamp.

I've already said how I love butterflies so I thought it appropriate to include it in this layout about myself.

Materials
Papers: Prima Fairy Rhyme and Lyric collections
Flowers: Prima
Chipboard butterflies: unknown
Chipboard: Prima
Resin birds and mushroom: Prima
Textured paste, Cheese cloth
Shimmerz paints and sprays
Alpha: Webster's pages
Crafter's workshop mask
Script Stamp: Glitz Desing
Resin cameo and frame: The Trinket Track

I do hope you come and join us at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge

and if you missed my video tutorial the other day here it is again!!

Have a fantastic day!!

Sweet Face- Ces't Magnifique Sketch Challenge

My daughter loves making these cute faces whenever I point the iphone her way. This photo was taken randomly one day!! I loved combining the purple and green tones together.

I used the April Ces't Magnifique Sketch as an inpiration for this layout. I inverted the sides to help me with the design.

I used textured paste over a prima mask for the background and then sprayed it with purple chalk ink spray from Tattered Angels.

I encourage you to come and join our challenge this month. Leslie always gives an amazing  prize for the winner.
Here is the sketch for you to play with. So head over to the Ces't Magnifique Blog and try it out.
