An Amazing Class

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending a class by the very own Anna Dabrowska (better known as Finnabair) and let me tell you it was phenomenal. She is truly inspirational and innovative. There was so much momentum and creativity in the room it was sensational.

I've been wanting to post some pictures from the event but the end of July was just so busy I couldn't find the time. I finally found an empty slot to show you the fabulous journal cover I made.

I loved getting grungy with the inks and stamps but I especially loved using all kinds of metal, wooden, plastic, chipboard and glass trinckets. I learned that you must keep all your junk, broken jewelry and paperclips. Everything is a treasure that can be incorporated into your work, even scrap pieces of paper. You know the ones we throw out!!

I hope you get a chance, if you haven't already, to enjoy one of her classes!!

Grow

I'm delighted to be a guest designer this month for the Sketch Challenge at Scrap Friends. I was one of the Top 3 Features in their blog last month and I was invited to create a layout with their next sketch.

I love their sketches because they are grungy looking and have lots of layers.

I titled it Grow for a new challenge at Ces't Magnifique. CM is hosting now 2 challenges a month. One is a sketch challenge and the other is a word challenge. The word this month is Grow and here is my journaling (which is hidden in an envelope behind the pictures): "I hope you always grow carefree and happy in everything you do.... "

I used 7 Dots Studio papers that I got in my CM kit and some beautiful Prima embellishments. The chipboard corner is from 2 Crafty. I also used a piece of Prima packaging for the journaling.

I used ripped papers from 2 different collections from 7 Dots Studios: Dreamer and Wonderland. 7 Dots is hosting a challenge on their blog and you need to use at least 2 of their collections. I wish I had them all. Their new Domestic Goddess collection is stunning.

Here is the layout I created of my kids playing by the lake:

resin flowers: Recollections

Perfect Just the way you are

Only a few more days for my Birthday giveaway. Press here if you want to join.

Here is my reveal for Bird is the Word using the word Shadow. This was a tough one for me. The only phrase I could thing of is "Beyond the shadow of a doubt...." But I didn't want to make the title too long, so I used the phrase in my journaling. It reads: "Beyond a shadow of a doubt, I love you so much. You are perfect just the way you are"

I used Ces't Magnifique's July sketch for this layout along with papers and embellishments form their July monthly Kit.
