Live- Mixed Media 6x6 Shadow box Canvas

This has to be one of my favourite creations to make of all times. I really put my heart and soul into creating it and I enjoyed designing every minute of it.

I used a 6x6 inverted canvas to create a complex mixed media shadow box for the Prima blog.

Here is the live recording in case you missed it!!

I covered it with Prima Finnabair  Graphite texture paste and while wet, applied glass and micro beads to the surface. Once it was dry, I sprayed it with Precious stone Color Bloom spray and  used gold Alcohol ink to add some contrast.

I loved combining the mixed media graphite texture paste with Finnabair's glass beads and micro-beads. Then adding all the mechanical elements made this project super fun to make and brought me a sense of accomplishment and happiness. I applaud Finnabair and Prima for manufacturing these fantastic products that make creating so easy and inspiring.

As I was creating this project, I felt as if I was adding pieces of my life and merging them together like a puzzle. Each piece signifies something special and pure that inspires me and helps me LIVE.
That's the reason why I chose this specific word as a title.

The centre of this canvas is a small General Electric light bulb. It signifies light and hope. Its the light that I always want to have in my life.

I really feel this is one of my most profound pieces I've created and hence one of my favourites.
Thanks so much for sharing this journey with me.

Keren,
Oh my gosh - absolutely gorgeous! I love each piece and I think it's wonderful that you chose pieces that mean something to you! I missed your live show because I have been in KY and TN for the last week - which came up unexpectedly. I will be checking out the live show.

Keren this shadow box is awesome, fabulous , fantastic.. LOVE LOVE LOVE it !! So many details. I could study this for a looong time and keep on finding lovely details.
Can I ask if you added something to the bulb to make it look crackled ? I would be so grateful for a reply... Please !?????
This project and the one you made with the red foam heart and wings created from stencils are my fave inspiration right now. They are FANTASTIC.
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely art.
