Love- Creative Scrappers # 228

For my giveaway press here

Good morning everyone. These next few days will be very busy on my blog. I guess they make up for the lack of posts of the past 2 weeks.

I've had a stressful situation to deal with in my child's school which gave me many sleepless nights and turned me off scrapbooking. I would love to be able to share it with all of my blogging friends because there is such amazing support among you, however I don't think its a good idea for me to talk about it on a public blog.

I'm back now in full force for all my reveals.

Here is my Creative Scrappers Layout for sketch # 228

I used the Webster's Pages In Love collection which I fell "In Love" with the minute I saw it.
Here is what I created and its also for the Webster's Pages Mix & Match Blog Challenge.
I used 3 Different WP papers: In love, Winter Fairy tales, Everyday Poetry

The sketch was different than my usual because I like to use 1-2 pictures at the most in my layouts. I ended up substituting photos for paper and embellishments to keep a similar form for the layout.

Materials Used
Webster's Pages papers: In Love, Winter Fairytale, Everyday poetry
WP: trip, tag, star, heart
Flowers: Recollections
Prima bird nest and birds
Pearl flourish: Dollar store
Pearl Pen: Ice white

GDT for Cest Magnifique Kit Club

I'm so excited to finally announce today my Guest Designer Position at Cest Magnifique Kit Club. I was thrilled when Leslie (the owner) asked me to design for her with the October Kit "Last Kiss of Summer" featuring an Australian Company Ruby Rock-it (such Yumminess)
I've been subscribing to Ces't Magnifique kits for quite sometime and I must say they are one of the best kits out there.
Here are some of the layouts I made with this kit. I will show you close-ups of these layouts throughout the month.

Each layout ended up being a different color.

"Follow your Dreams"
Blue

This is a picture of my kids in our recent trip to the eastern part of Canada. I tried to give this layout an ocean feel. I inked the flowers in a bluish-green color with Shimmerz ink. I also dabbed alcohol ink on the flourishes to make them greener.

For this layout I used the CSI/OUAS combination Challenge Case FIle #38

This is how I solved the case:
Evidence: Flowers, Branches, Misting
Testimony: Black Border around the photo

From the Main Kit:
Ruby Rock-It - Becalm
Ruby Rock-It - Repose
Prima: Rosarian Wood Clocks & Tickets
Prima: Tea Thyme Alpha Stickers
Wrights: Fan Eyelet

From the Flower Add-On:

Green Tara: Heirloom (spritzed blue)
Manor House Creations: Sublime - Aqua
Wild Orchid: Aster - Navy

From the Embellishment Add-On:

Prima: Spotlight Pastel
Want2Scrap: Frilly Flourish Swirl - Silver
Want2Scrap: Chipboard Sentiments - Dream

From my stash:
Cherry Lynn Designs Bakers Doily die-cut
Prima Fluid chalk ink: navy
Crafter’s Workshop template
Gesso
Adirondack Alcohol ink: Green
Adirondack Acrylic dabber: Stream
Shimmerz ink: Blueberry Cobbler
Tattered Angels blue spray

"Lovable"
Pink
I love this picture of my daughter lying like that. I used lots of cut-out roses to give this layout a girly feel!!
From the Main Kit:
Ruby Rock-It - Harmony
Prima: Eros Resin
Shimmerz: Bed of Roses
Prima: Bravo - Pink

From the Flower Add-On:

Manor House Creations: Darling

From the Embellishment Add-On:
Prima: Spotlight Pastel
American Crafts: Thickers - Forest – Vanilla

From my Stash:
Cherry Lynn Designs Baker’s doily die-cut and olive branch
Chalk ink: cocoa
"Love"
Fuchsia

This layout was my second pink layout of the set. I cut out lots of flowers out of the papers and spread them across the page. I felt that the pink Green Tara flower was too large for my layout, therefore I separated it in half and used just one flower across the whole layout. You can see the larger petals underneath and the smaller pink flower as the main focus of the flower cluster.

For this layout I used the Palette from the The Color Room #130

From the main kit:
Ruby Rock-It - Tranquil
Ruby Rock-It - Simplicity
Ruby Rock-It - Serenity
Ruby Rock-It - Unity
Ruby Rock-It - Repose
Prima: Eros Resin
Magnolia: Pink Chandelier Garland
Prima: Rosarian Wood Clocks & Tickets

From the Flower Add-On

Maya Road: Ribbon Roses - Burgundy
Wild Orchid: Beehive Blossoms - White
Green Tara: Velvet Roses - Pink

From the Embellishment Add-On

Kaisercraft: Flourish Hearts
American Crafts: Thickers - Forest – Vanilla

From my stash
Tim Holtz stamps
Prima fluid chalk blossom bud
Martha Stewart Punches

"Believe"
Purple

I wanted this layout to have a purplish feel. I sprayed the background with purple ink and let it drip down the page.  I sprayed the white beehive blossoms in black and then I added some orange tones to balance the page. I painted the title in the copper paint and I highlighted the flowers in the background with an orange pen.

From the Main Kit
Ruby Rock-It - Halcyon

Ruby Rock-It - Liberty

Touching Moments- BITW Reveal

For my giveaway press here
Hello Friends!
I have another reveal today for Bird is the Word. The word to use is TOUCH.  At first I thought this would be easy but I couldn't come up with a short title to fit my pictures. Finally I thought of Touching Moments, although I'm not even sure if that's grammatically correct.

I used an amazing sketch from the Skissedilla blog. I haven't been able to play there a lot because the times didn't coincide with my reveals, but I finally got a layout in there! YAY!!

For the background, I used tissue paper that was used to wrap a shirt I bought last week. I poured tacky glue all over the page and then corrugated the tissue paper. I love the effect it gives. I then sprayed, inked and stamped the paper for added effect.

I used lots of Prima goodies I especially love these Laredo flowers. I added a zipper to match the Prima zipper embellishment. I used 3 embellishments with the word moments: The light bulb, the zipper and the metal coin.

I used this new 2 Crafty Fencing wire panel chipboard. I love this new chipboard it adds lots of dimension to my layout.

I love catching my son in these type of pictures. Looking out into the horizon. These moments touch my heart and I wanted to convey this message here. I don't always need him to be looking at the camera. Sometimes I can peek into his soul when he's not looking at me. I wish I could read his thoughts at those times.

Materials Used:
Papers: Tissue Paper, Prima Craftsman and Fairy Belle
2 Crafty chipboard: Fencing Wire Panel
Prima flowers Laredo Buckskin
Prima Light bulb embellishment
Prima Zipper embellishment
Tim Holtz cogs and button
Tim Holtz Distress Stain Vintage Photo
Prima Fluid Chalk Ink brown
American Crafts Thickers Cream
Graphic 45 mini alphas
Black Zipper

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. It makes me so happy to see you here!

Have a fantastic day!!

My September 2 Crafty Creations in more Detail

For my giveaway press here

Its my time again to showcase my creations with 2 Crafty Chipboard.  I used lots of Mixed media techniques on the chipboard and I combined it with lots of beautiful flowers.

Here are my creations:
Enjoy!!

First I want to point out these beautiful Graceful Butterflies. I used acrylic paint and smooch spray to make them two-toned. Then when dry, I added clear Distress Stickles. I love the magical look I created for them.

In this picture I'm showcasing this beautiful Floral frame that surrounds my daughter. I loved this frame as soon as I saw it. I covered the frame with black gesso. Then I dabbed it with an orange acrylic dabber over a floral mask template. After the orange pattern dried, I dabbed it all over again with the same orange paint. The patterned design looks as if its lightly embossed. Finally using my finger I applied black gesso again around the edges.

I also used these amazing Bamboo Stems. I covered them in green acrylic paint and when dry, I dabbed them with Green Distress Stain in certain areas to give the bamboo leaves depth.

Here are the 3 types of 2 Crafty Chipboard I used on this layout.

Graceful Butterfy (unit of 3)

11" Floral Frame (unit of 3)

Bamboo Stems (unit of 3)

For my second layout I wanted to create a hanging garden type of illusion. I dripped Liquid acrylic paint down the page for effect.

I used the Albert Frame for this layout although you probably can't tell. I cut this 11" frame in half and adhered it to the top of the page. I still have the other half for another layout. I even have another great idea on how to use it.

This is how I created the blue textured effect on the frame.

1. Using a paint brush I thickly added Molding Paste on the chipboard. Be generous and make sure the paste doesn't go on evenly. You want it to look messy.

2. Spray the frame with your choice of colored ink. I used turquoise Dyllusions ink and Blue Glimmer mist.

3. Let it dry thoroughly. (This takes quite a number of hours)

I used one of the two Tattered Hearts that came in the package. First I painted it with white acrylic paint to make it opaque. Then I dabbed it with an Adirondack Yellow Acrylic Dabber to match my page.

I used Maggie's Swirl on this layout to add flourishes to the flowers. I had to cut both swirls into many pieces to have enough for the whole page. This is a great tip if you don't have enough pieces of chipboard for the whole layout. You may cut a larger piece into smaller pieces for a better effect. I used the same painting method as the heart for these swirls.

Finally I used these beautiful Birds in Flight chippies. I love these birds. There are 6 in a package and you don't have to use them all at once. I only used 2 for this layout. I painted them in turquoise acrylic paint and then I dabbed them lightly with the Yellow Dabber.

These are the chipboard pieces I used on this layout:

Albert Square Frame (unit of 3)

Tattered Hearts (unit of 3)

Maggie's Swirl (unit of 3)

Birds in Flight (unit of 3)

****GIVEAWAY******

Last month I posted a giveaway that I thought was very cool!! But it wasn't so successful as I think most people that want to win, want to win BIG!! (That just sounded like a Casino advertisement LOL!)

However I did draw a prize winner and she chose 1 of the 6 packages I was giving away!

Well sometimes in life things don't go as we planned. In those cases its always good to stir the ship and change directions.

That's why I decided to have a new giveaway.

This giveaway still celebrates life!! It celebrates every small and big miracle in this world.

I'm not a very religious person but I love traditions and respect all religions and cultures from all over the world. They actually quite fascinate me. I see that some of you took interest in Judaism too so I just want to share my thoughts for this week.
In the Jewish tradition starting right after The new Year (Rosh Hashana) and until Yom Kipur (day of atonement) there are 10 days. In these ten days we are supposed to ask and accept forgiveness from G-d and from our family and friends. Sometimes we don't know we have hurt someones feelings. Sometimes we want to forgive but don't know how.

These ten days are just for that , to accept and give forgiveness so when we reach Yom Kipur we will be forgiven and inscribed in the book of life.

So that being said I want to ask forgiveness from all of you who read this post. If I have done something to offend you, this is the time I ask for a clean slate. I hope you feel my intentions are always good and pure!

Thank you so much for everyone who follows my blog and listens to my blabber and to all my friends all over the world no matter what religion, background or ethnicity you are. I feel close to all of you in our Scrappy world, WE ARE ONE!!

Wishing you all my friends and Family a Shana Tova filled with health, happiness and peace.

Here is my layout for sketch #226 for Creative Scrappers

These 2 Sweet little babies (a boy and a girl) are the cutest twins born on June 2nd to one of my good friends. This picture was taken hours after they were born.
They are truly a miracle from G-d. After wanting babies for many years she finally decided to venture out into motherhood on her own.
The babies were being born at 29 weeks.  She happily brought them home and they are growing healthy.

I made this layout as a gift for her to hang on her wall. May G-d bless these 2 precious babies with health, happiness and love

Over at the Girly Grunge Ning site from Donna Salazar they are having a September challenge! The challenge is to make a gift for a friend. It could be a layout, a card or an OTP.
