Welcome back to Scrap Around The World Challenge FIVE!
Please note we have modified our rules!!
{please read our "To be Eligible for Judging" further down
as there's a slight change there too}.
1) The sketch is now OPTIONAL - you do not HAVE to use it
{but of course you are welcome to use it as a starting point
& for your inspiration if you like!}, this makes it easy for you to
combine our challenges with sketch challenges if you want :)
2) We now accept art journaling pages BUT only double-spreads with a
minimum single page size of 14 x 19cm (5.5 x 7.5 inches) per page.
3) Our challenges will now run until midnight EST on the last of the month
{this means you have an entire month to complete the challenge - woohoo!}.

You are required to show the image of the MOOD BOARD ONLY
{you may show the sketch image but ONLY IF YOU USE IT}
PLUS mention in your post that you are playing along at Scrap Around The World
with a link back to the current challenge.
Link to YOUR BLOG POST NOT your entire blog & turn off your word-verification if
you would like some of our Design Team members to comment on your entry.
Here is my take on this challenge!!
I used heavy Liquitex gesso and masked a few different stencils on the background paper which had script writing on it. Its a UHK paper from the collection Dear. Mr. Watson.
All my embellishments are black and white to mimic the mood board and I used strong patterns for the stencil to mimic the strong patterns on the mood board.
Above you can see the black La Tiza flower from Prima which is from the new collections from Summer CHA.
I decided to add a red title to make it really stand out as a message for my son to always be himself no matter what!!
Materials:
Papers: UHK
Liquitex: Heavy gesso
alpha: American Crafts
Flowers, Leaves, resins, Metals: Prima
Canvas swirls: Prima
Stencil: Prima, RP
Pearls: Colorbok

Your lo is gorgeous! I am LOVING the color scheme with the title being an offsetting color!!
Great job with the challenge Keren! Love the pops of red & the strong patterns!! Great photo too!!!
love it!!!!
This looks fabulous! What a great photo too!!
Stunning layout Keren.... Awesome.... hugs...x
I have to say that even though there is a lot of you in this layout this is such a different look and feel to most of your layouts :) I think I love the dark dramatic colours and the bold statement it makes.... but what I love most is that you still use flowers on a boys layout. THAT seriously rocks. Amazing layout Keren.
very cool page!
Love what you did with the criteria and the pop of red is just magical.
What a fabulously funky layout - love the b&w with that fab pop of red, and a great picture of your son too.
Alison x
Such a strong and bold statement with the b&w strong elements. The red title is brill, just pops. Not the easiest colours to work with but this is FAB! xoxo
