Reach for the sky

Here is my reveal for Bird is the Word. The word today is REACH and my title is Reach for the Sky (I don't know why I thought this was the actual saying. I believe its actually Reach for the stars. But for my purposes and since I figured it out too late, it will stay as Reach for the Sky) It fits the picture better anyways!!

Here is a beautiful picture of my kids by the lake. they were standing on the dock watching the sunset fall over the trees and looking at the moon. Can you see the white dot on the lake beside my son's shirt?, that's the moon reflected on the lake. I tried to capture it because it looked so big but it doesn't come out the same in a picture.

Here I used a Balzar Designs template that looks like ripples. I covered it in light molding paste and then dripped orange and turquoise paint on it to give it a rippled effect.

Its odd for me how I can jump back and forth between styles on my layouts. I love designing shabby chic layouts but I also love designing mixed media layouts like this one. So I jump back and forth between them depending on my mood and what inspires me at the time.

The sketch I used is from ScrapFriends. I love their sketches because they allow you to experiment with a variety of products and lots of paints and mists!!

You do do both styles amazingly well....I'm sooo glad that Scrap F's is helping with your 'mixed media' styling - I find [I think???!!!] I'm scrapping better with them, myself!!!:):):):)

Beautiful Keren and just love that background. I am so like you too at the moment, from arty to paper. Love trying both styles depending on the challenge, photo and mood. You have created a fabulous page here.

Wow Keren, I love your page. Beautiful colours and love the technique you've used for your background. Great sketch too and I really like your interpretation. You sound a little like me, jumping between techniques, I love shabby too but am finding myself using less and less embellishment products and more and more mixed media. I really enjoy the freedom of this, I think I'm searching for a happy combination.lol.

Wow my friend this is totally impressive - your background is outstanding! Please let me know what the black/dark-brown cardstock bits are that look like branches - is it a die? Totally loving this one - everything about it!!
