I was delighted to be invited as a guest at Words & Paintery.
Its a wonderful monthly challenge blog focusing on Mixed Media.
Their DT is so talented and I'm honoured to be a part of the September team.
Here is my creation following the mood board palette below.
I used all there of the colours to create the above mixed media canvas.
I had to interpret the words
"Free Falling"
When I think of the words "Free Falling" I think of flying and wings. That's why I wanted to incorporate wings in my project.
I feel that Art gives wings to my soul. When I create I feel as if i'm flying. I feel I have the freedom to do anything I want and so its as if my soul had wings.
I used a paint brush to represent art and then added wings metaphorically.
The background was created by covering the whole canvas with Finnabair texture paste white crackle.
Once it was dry. I sprayed the background with different Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays: Cajun Carnelian Red, Buccaneer Bay Blue and Bachelor Button Blue
I stencilled some areas using an alphabet stencil and modelling paste mixed with gold mica powder.
I also added stamping and white splatters using gesso.
The paint brush and the wings are chipboard pieces from Blue Fern Studios.
The wings were embossed in Lindy's stamp gang Byzanteen bronze embossing powder and then sprayed with one of their sprays.
The paint brush tip and swirl were also embossed and the rest sprayed with blue ink.
