Dress Tutorial

For my giveaway press on the Right hand side bar

For the Scrap That! September Tutorial  I used the beautiful Dusty Attic Wire Dress Form from the main kit and designed a beautiful dress using the Graphic 45 Papers

Punch a strip along the edge of your paper. I used this Martha Stewart's punch but any punch will do.

The Strip should be 1 1/4 inches. You may need 2-3 strips

Ink the edges of the paper in a matching color.

Cut the paper strip long enough so when you wrap it around the bottom of the dress form it will connect in the back. I used scotch tape to stick the two ends together.

Continue adding strips to make ruffles for the dress

Make sure that the Strips are evenly spread.

Using the other side of the paper, make the top of the dress and wrap it around. Make sure that the punched edge is facing up. You may choose a piece of the strip with a design on it. I chose a piece with  a printed flower. Don't worry about the seam as you will be adding  a bow.

Make a bow around the waist.

Then I glued a small flower and 2 small feathers in the centre.

Finally using a pearl pen I added small pearls to decorate.

Here is a back view. Although not very flattering, nobody will see it.

Final Project

You can add this dress to a page or project. I chose to decorate my Scrap Room with it. I hang it on a drawer near my desk.

I'm so glad you stopped by today

  4. What a neat idea- & you could use the form as a 'template' & dress up your page with the clothes but keep the chippy for next time, too...I really like her:):):)
