Live Free


This is a picture of my kids while we were sitting on a boat in Downtown Disney. I took a picture of them with the hot air balloon in the background and I immediately envisioned using the papers from the Park Drive collection from WP. I love the hot air balloons in that collection.


 I created this layout yesterday and it took me such a long time to get it the way I wanted. I spent 3 hours working with it and could not get it to work so I had to walk away and watch TV and relax. Surprisingly I didn't get too frustrated because I knew that if I left it it would work itself out later.I finally changed the background and style by ripping strips from the Websters Pages' papers. I masked the card stock with a wood grain mask from Prima. Then I sprayed ink and let it drip.


I used this sketch from Keeping the Best as Inspiration for this layout

There's also a challenge at Frosted Designs called Up Up and Away that is perfect for this challenge using the hot air balloons.

    Love this layout,the colors and design!!
    I know how it feels when it wont work. I do the same, never have a idea, just doing something, and than if it wont work I walk away from it. Most of the time when I come back I suddenly see the solution.

    Well, I'm glad you walked away then came back - those strips of material, lace etc are magical...& I'm in the middle of a LO where I've done just what you've done...so I'll go back to it today thinking 'Keren did it, I can too'!!!!     When I cannot finish my lo I leave it till the next day, sometimes it helps to look at it at the daylight and at night.
    Now it has turned into amazingly beautiful creation

    I love the colors in this, just beautiful, also love how the Websters flower mimics the shape of the balloon in the photo and the strips and drips are like the ropes of a balloon, very creative and very gorgeous!!

    It was soooo worth the struggle Keren! the result is brethtaking! something very special about the colours and the dripping and paper strips almost mimic the rays of sun and melting popsicles!! An absolutely smashing layout in every way possible! xoxoxo
