Welcome Sign- Berry71Bleu Reveal

I'm here today to reveal my new project for Berry71Bleu.

Well this month its Cathy's turn to host the Berry71Bleu challenge.  She decided to make it nice and simple and have a theme of WingsFor this challenge there is only one criteria - I would like to see any form of wings on your LO, Card or OTP project.  Can be one or many forms, whatever you like as long as I see some wings.  Here are some examples to get you started - fairies, angels, birds, winged insects, dragons unicorns and bats.

Just You- Creative Scrappers Sketch #220

I recently attended a seminar with the one and only Anna Dabrowska and I do have to say it was sensational. She is truly talented and inspirational.
This layout was inspired by her class and her techniques. I learned a lot in her class: like how to make these beautiful splatters.

The journaling is written on masking tape at the bottom.

This is my reveal for Creative Scrappers Sketch # 220

Here are some more close-ups. This one is using a chippie from Imaginarium Designs. I painted in black paint.

For the first time I cut out the background around a person's body. I cut around my son's face and embedded him into the layout, I've never attempted this but I quite like it.

I especially made this layout for my son. The colors match his room perfectly. He is such a special boy. I wanted him to have something too as I mainly make girly layouts!! This layout was also perfect for a challenge at Scrap Africa. The challenge is to dedicate a project to a boy/man. Well this was definitely dedicated to him.

I used 3 different distress stains. Some dry-wall tape and canvas resist pieces from Prima which were stained with the same ink. I also used some glass beads and stamps.

Well my son liked the layout so much he kept it in his room!!

Materials Used
Papers: Prima Doodle-deux
Prima Canvas Resist
Masking Tape
Prima Canvas Tape
Dry-Wall tape
Distress Stains: aged mahogany, broken china, chipped Sapphire
Glass beads: dollar store
Chipboard: Imaginarium Designs
Black Adirondack Acrylic dabber
Glitz Design Dot Stamp
Ranger: Black Archival Ink

An Amazing Class

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending a class by the very own Anna Dabrowska (better known as Finnabair) and let me tell you it was phenomenal. She is truly inspirational and innovative. There was so much momentum and creativity in the room it was sensational.

I've been wanting to post some pictures from the event but the end of July was just so busy I couldn't find the time. I finally found an empty slot to show you the fabulous journal cover I made.

I loved getting grungy with the inks and stamps but I especially loved using all kinds of metal, wooden, plastic, chipboard and glass trinckets. I learned that you must keep all your junk, broken jewelry and paperclips. Everything is a treasure that can be incorporated into your work, even scrap pieces of paper. You know the ones we throw out!!

I hope you get a chance, if you haven't already, to enjoy one of her classes!!

Grow

I'm delighted to be a guest designer this month for the Sketch Challenge at Scrap Friends. I was one of the Top 3 Features in their blog last month and I was invited to create a layout with their next sketch.

I love their sketches because they are grungy looking and have lots of layers.

I titled it Grow for a new challenge at Ces't Magnifique. CM is hosting now 2 challenges a month. One is a sketch challenge and the other is a word challenge. The word this month is Grow and here is my journaling (which is hidden in an envelope behind the pictures): "I hope you always grow carefree and happy in everything you do.... "

I used 7 Dots Studio papers that I got in my CM kit and some beautiful Prima embellishments. The chipboard corner is from 2 Crafty. I also used a piece of Prima packaging for the journaling.

I used ripped papers from 2 different collections from 7 Dots Studios: Dreamer and Wonderland. 7 Dots is hosting a challenge on their blog and you need to use at least 2 of their collections. I wish I had them all. Their new Domestic Goddess collection is stunning.

Here is the layout I created of my kids playing by the lake:

Materials Used
Papers: 7 Dots Studios, Dreamer and Wonderland
Glitz Designs
Flowers and Butterfly: Prima
resin flowers: Recollections
Envelope: Maya Road
Alphas: Jillibean Soup
Green Raffia: Unknown
Chipboard corner: 2 Crafty

Corner Elegant Set (unit of 3)
