Photo Collaage Wall Hanging for 7 Dots Studio

Hi Everyone,

I'm on the 7 Dots Studio Blog today with a new project.

I created a photo collage wall hanging using recycled flower boxes. I glued the boxes to each other using gel medium and held the sides using paper clips until they were dry.

Once the the frame set-up was done I spread the placement of my family photos in different boxes. I cut papers from both 7 Dots Studio Destination Unknown and Fortune Teller collections to fit into the remaining boxes and to frame the photos. 

Finally I framed some of the photos with several chipboard frames and embellished around the collage with flowers, metals and chipboard embellishments.

These pictures were taken recently during a family vacation and the colours fit perfectly with the teal and turquoise tones of those collections.

Love Art- Prima Marketing Love-filled project

Hi everyone,

I'm really happy to have a project up on the Prima blog. I haven't had one up there for a couple of years so this was a good way to reminisce on those days.

I was asked to create a Valentine’s day themed project for the Prima Blog but since I don’t celebrate Valentine’s day I thought I would create a “Love” themed project. Love should be celebrated each and every day. Our world today needs so much love that any human being that collaborates toward this feeling is helping the greater cause!.

To celebrate love, I thought I would create a project that depicts something I love and is dear to my heart: MIXED MEDIA ART

I’ve always loved anything art related but in the past few years I fell “in love” with Mixed Media. This piece represents just that. My love for mixed media and how I pour my heart and soul into it as it brings me so much joy.

I hope you love my creation just as much as I love it.

Love- Card for Maja Design Mood Board Challenge

Hi Everyone,

As part of the Maja Design Team its my turn to create a project with the February Mood Board.

I created a card with Love as its theme as its close to Valentine's day.

Although I don't usually celebrate Valentine's day I always feel its beautiful to celebrate Love.

I used the Maja Design  Brought you a gift paper from the Home for the Holidays collection  and  the tags and journaling cards from the Enjoying Outdoors collection.

I tried to add lots of mixed media elements to the card such as: 

1. Texture stamping with a honey comb stamp

2. Finnabair light paste through a chicken wire stencil from the Crafters Workshop

3. Painting some Blue Fern Studios chipboard. Heart Hugs which I designed.

4. Spraying with Prima Color Bloom sprays Lime Wedge and Tea Stain

I found it a bit hard to use the red and green colours and not make the card look too Christmasy. I think I achieved that but the greens are not exactly the right tone lol.

I always find mood boards very difficult to design with although they are always so beautiful, especially the Maja Design ones.

Mixed Media Book Cover for 7 Dots Studio

Hi Everyone,
I'm up on the 7 Dots Studio blog with a new project and video tutorial.
I created this mixed media book cover using the Writer’s Block collection. 

Below is a step by step video video tutorial on how I created this cover:

I mounted the composition on a piece of corrugated cardboard I’d cut from a box. I used lots of mediums to alter it and make it look rusted and old. I wanted to have a book cover hooked on with large jump rings so I can attach beautiful greeting cards I’ve received from some friends around the world.
