THIS IS MY SECOND POST TODAY SO PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR THE BERRY71BLEU REVEAL
I can't believe its been a year since I've joined Bird is the Word. I truly love this challenge site and love working with so many talented designers and friends. I don't know what it is but I've always loved "words" so its no surprise that I love a challenge with words in it. I love playing Boggle, Scrabble and other word puzzles. The only thing I'm not good at is crossword puzzles. Those are hard.
Here is my reveal for Bird is the word using the word "STORY". I stretched my limit with this word because I used the word History which has the word Story in it. History is made up of stories from the past, hence the name. So I thought it fit the theme.
I used a picture we recently took on our trip to Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. This lighthouse is very famous and has many historical facts and stories written about it. It has "a rich history". One of the most famous stories involves the Titanic but there are stories of plane crashes and sinking ships. It has stories about survival and drowning.
I used A LOT of Webster's pages products from the Yacht Club collection and other embellishments. I don't know why but I can't make WP layouts simple and clean. I start cutting up the images and add more and more to the page. Its as if I'm never satisfied. WP collections are perfect for creating magical scenes on the page and that's what I try to do. I used lots of nautical elements and combined them with flowers to set the scene.
I made this layout for the monthly challenge at the WP blog. Its called a trendy challenge and we must use at least one of the trends shown on the blog. I used 4 of those trends. First I made those cool feathered leaves seen below. Then I used a chicken wire mask to decorate the compass with gesso and paint. And if you notice, my background paper has hexagons on it.
Since my layout was so full, I didn't have room to journal on it. However the back of the hexagon paper is so beautiful, I was able to write so much information about our trip.
Wells that's all Folks!!
hope to see you soon on my blog again!!
