Today I created this mixed media butterfly canvas tile Live on the Artists Live Ustream channel.
This month, Artists Live DT is collaborating with Our Mixed Media Moods and this project is inspired by the February Mood Board below.

Here is the mood board. I got inspired by the butterfly and of course the texture and colours of the top middle picture as well.

Here is my video recording from today's show:

I also created another project with video inspired by this mood board. Here is the other project

and scroll down below for the links to all the other inspirational videos from 5 other phenomenal artists.

Memories Here- Maja Design Layout

Hi Everyone, Its Keren Here with a new layout for the Maja Design Blog using one of my all time favourite collections Vintage Summer Basics.

IMG_3313 copy

I love going to the beach and as a family that's our favourite place to go on vacation. This picture of my kids running on the sand was taken during our last vacation in Mexico. I wanted to create movement on my layout and so I stencilled across the page using white gesso.  Then I sprayed with Prima's blue Color Bloom sprays summer sky and glistening waves, to mimic the colour of the ocean.

IMG_3316 copy

I mounted the photo on small pieces of Maja Design papers and then framed the photo in the Blue Fern Studios chipboard Janie's frame which was lightly daubed in white gesso. Then I glued lots of sequence and textured stones around the  frame to add lots of texture to the background and make it look like an ocean. Sequins are from Dress my Craft and the art stones are Prima Finnabair.

Here you can se the texture and the Vintage Summer basics papers underneath the photo.

Trust- Art Journaling Page with Prima's Christine Adolph's products

I was asked to create a project for the Prima Marketing blog using Christine Adolph's products.
I realized I wanted to create a project that is more focused on mixed media. I felt like I wanted to express my own style in the project and mixed media is what I love and what I’m passionate about.

It was a great way to use Christine’s line in a different way than the usual rub and foil. It still came out shimmery and bright which Is perfect because I love colour.
However it represented me and my style. Below, is a step by step video tutorial for this project:

Here are some close-up pictures of the journal page. I really love ho the Color Bloom sprays seeped into the stamped grooves. It almost looks as if I actually used foil.

Butterfly Art Canvas- For Mixed Media Moods along with Artists Live

Hi everyone,
We are really excited this month as a few of the Artists from our weekly Artists Live show will be collaborating with Our Mixed Media moods.
Each artists created a project inspired by this month's Mood Board below.
I will also be creating a second project inspired by this mood board live on the Artists Live Ustream channel next Monday February 27th at 2pm EST, 6pm GMT

This is my first project and it has a step by step video tutorial linked below:

Below is the Mood Board. Isn't it gorgeous?
I got inspired by the paint brushes and the butterfly of course. I got inspired by the colours and especially by the blended stains in the top middle picture. I used alcohol inks on Yupo paper to create a similar effect. You can see my inspiration in the video as well!!

You can find all the info about the mood board challenge on DeeDee's blog HERE

The Book of Gratitude- Blue Fern Studios

I created another one of my books of gratitude for someone who is going through something difficult in life.

I used the Valentines Party from the Heartland collection to cover the book.
I used the Majestic chipboard frame as the centre of my composition. I embossed it with breeze embossing powder.

Finally I embellished around the frame with Prima flowers and bird resins.
