Just a spoonful- Prima's Pin Spin inspiration

Prima is doing a Pin Spin feature on their blog.
The point is to find a pin or pins on Pinterest and create a project inspired by that pin.
Here is the project that I created.
I called it "Just a spoonful" as it makes me think of that Mary Poppins song every time I see it.

Here is the pin below.
I created a collage of all different images I found on Pinterest that had colourful spoons and interesting spoon ideas.
Then I imagined and created this project.

I really loved creating this Mixed Media canvas. I created it as a home decor for my kitchen and it goes perfectly with my decor.

I got inspired by different spoon images from Pinterest which I gathered together to form a collage. One of the images is even one of the actual Finnabair products I used.

I used so many different mixed media products on this canvas, creating textured layers and shadings of colours. I really enjoyed creating this project, it brought me much joy and fulfilment

Let it go and Grow- Journaling Page

Here is another one of my journaling pages this month.
The words "Let it go and grow" remind me that I have to let go of misconceptions I create in my head and just believe. That's the only way I will grow as a person and as an artist.

I really felt connected to this message and so I created a page that looks like a garden.

The background was created with Ecoline water-colors which I just love!! Then I stamped the edges with a Tim Holtz texture stamp. The same stamp was used on black edge. It was embossed in cream like embossing powder from Lindy's stamp gang.

The chipboard flowers are from Blue Fern studios. They were painted in acrylic paint and then stamped with the same textured stamp.

Destination Found- Art Journaling page

I'm back with another page in my Art Journal.
The title of this one is "Destination Found" and it was created at a time when I realized the direction I was supposed to follow. My destination was clear and I knew my purpose.
For a split second I felt bliss as I knew where I was going.

(I apologize for the crooked photo but my book wouldn't stay flat)

This  art journaling page was really fun to make.
I used gelatos to create the Ombre coloured effect in the background.
Then I stencilled over a Crafter's Workshop stencil with Golden glass bead gel. You can see the grainy texture in the photo below. I also glued  some Tim Holtz tissue on both sides of the page. Finally I stamped using a Blue Fern Studios stamp.

I embellished the page using Blue Fern Studios chipboard, home made 3D gel butterflies and a label maker for the title.
