Any Direction- CSI #87 GD with 2 Crafty.

This was my last layout for my 2 Crafty GD at CSI. This is CSI #87.
I used this cute picture of my kids and called the layout "Any direction". I journaled about how no matter which direction life takes them, I will always be there by their side.

How I solved the case:

Evidence: travel accent (globe), butterflies, arrows.
Testimony: Word: direction, and journaling across the page.

I used the World Globe from the set. I simply primed it with gesso and then dabbed it in some green and blue dazzlers.

I used papers from Prima and Webster's Pages combined. Then I embellished with lots of Prima flowers.

In these two pictures you can see the two of the 6"clock face frames. They were simply primed with gesso and left raw.
Below you can also see the Frame Madeline's flourish peeking underneath the photo. After it was primed with gesso, it was painted with Shimmerz paint: green with envy.

Metal birdcage: Prima

So close to the North Pole- New Holiday Jubilee Collection by Prima

The Prima blog is showcasing a brand new collection this week. Its a X-mas/ Winter collection called Holiday Jubilee.

I created this wintery layout using this collection.

This picture was taken on our recent trip to Alaska. It was the perfect photo to create a winter themed layout using Prima's new Holiday Jubilee collection. The "North Pole" paper, added the perfect touch as it has a map of the North Pole including the state of Alaska.

I cut out a number of pine trees from one of the papers to create a forest like pattern across the page.

I really wanted to create a frozen like scenery on my page, so I used blue and white, papers, flowers and mists.  I even incorporated these new Prima doilies that actually have the shape of a snowflake. They really added an extra touch to the frozen atmosphere.

The title "So close to the North Pole" was perfect for my layout. The map paper, already had the words North Pole written on it. I just added the rest of the title using some black canvas letters from the Sunrise Sunset collection.

I used lots of different Prima flowers like the blue Serenade, Le Mia, Charlotte and Layla.

Its my turn again at the Shimmerz blog and I have a very soft and delicate layout here to show you.

I've used this beautiful photo of my daughter and created a magical fairy garden around her. I've created a video on how I made this layout and I'll be uploading it in a few days back here on the blog, so stay tuned.

For the Yellow tones, I've used: Egg Nogging, Tuscan sun, Mandarin Mai Tai and Sunny side up.

I used lots of Prima flowers and embellishments to compliment the page. I especially love the Ingvild Bolme Shabby Chic treasure Fairies as they were perfect for this garden.a

Remember to follow your Dreams- CSI #86 with 2 Crafty

Here is another layout  as GD this month for CSI along with 2 Crafty who is sponsoring them.
I played along with this yummy pastel palette from CSI # 86

Here is how I solved the case:

As evidence I used art mediums, architectural accents and I tied a bow to the tag hidden behind the photo.

As testimony I hand wrote on my journaling tag. The journaling is very personal but its very much related to the title. It is a message to my future self and to my children to always remember to follow your dreams.

I used lots of 2 Crafty chipboards on this page. To frame my photo, I used the Frame 2 Etched. After priming it with Gesso, I painted it peach colour acrylic paint. While paint was still wet, I sprinkled clear embossing powder on it and melted it with a heat gun. Then I stamped it in brown archival ink with swirl pattern.

On the picture above, you can see a little 2 Crafty Twiggy nest with eggs. I painted the eggs in cream acrylic paint and the nest I dabbed with Dry Sand Fluid chalk edger from Prima.

For the title, I used two words from the Friendship mini word pack. I painted them in cream acrylic ink.

Finally, I used the Flourish adornment set 3 which I also painted in peach coloured paint and stamped with brown archival ink.

Materials:
papers: White Cardstock, Teresa collins, FabScraps
Prima Flowers
Resin flowers: The Trinket Track
Chipboard: 2 Crafty
Shimmerz paint: pink
Golden LIght Molding Paste

Free- Sketchbook 365 September Sketch Reveal

I was excited to scrap more pictures of my son flying the kite at the beach last month. This sketch for Sketchbook 365 gave me the perfect opportunity.
I'm delighted to reveal my layout for the September sketch at Sketchbook 365

It is a very linear sketch with lots of white space which is quite different from my style. However I made it my own and chose to add some mixed media elements and flowers.

I was super excited to use the new 9th Wave collection from 7 Dots Studio, designed by the multi talented Finnabair and all I have to say is that these papers are gorgeous!!!

One of the things I loved creating on this LO was these mixed media strips up and down the page. first I spread some clear gesso across the page and then using some Shimmerz paints and the tip of the wooden part of my paint brush. I used: Green with Envy, Blue By U and Peas be mine.
I simply dipped the tip in the paint and then painted the strips roughly.

If you want to try some of the Shimmerz paints come visit the Shimmerz store. If you mention my name during checkout at the "Instructions to Merchant" box, you can receive a free Shimmerz product. I'm a GD there this month so come visit to see everyone's work.

Flowers: Prima
golden gesso
Liquitex clear gesso
Shimmerz: peas be mine, green with envy, Blue By U
Stamp: Hero arts
